The police (RCMP) have confirmed that the main suspect in the mass stabbing incident in Saskatchewan has been arrested.
Miles Sanderson was located and detained in Rosthern, Saskatchewan, today Wednesday, around 3:30 PM, according to the civil emergency status update that has been in effect in the province since Sunday morning. The update, which officially canceled the alert, stated that there is no longer any danger to public safety.
The arrest of Miles Sanderson comes after an emergency alert was issued Wednesday afternoon reporting an individual armed with a knife in Wakaw, Saskatchewan. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police believe the suspect may be connected to the deadly stabbings that occurred in James Smith Cree Nation.
As a reminder, Miles Sanderson is charged with three counts of first-degree murder, attempted murder, and one count of breaking and entering.
