The Royal Canadian Mounted Police seized more than 60 rifles and 10,000 rounds of ammunition from a home in the Ville-Marie area on Wednesday.
The RCMP said the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Crime Reduction Team began an investigation into firearms trafficking in the Hudson Bay area earlier this year, including a search of a home in Ville-Marie where a 56-year-old man was arrested.
The man arrested, Steven Bondi, was charged with firearms trafficking, unauthorized possession of prohibited weapons, possession of property obtained by crime, and possession for the purpose of trafficking, according to the RCMP.
The RCMP said Bondi was held in custody pending his next court appearance in Nipawin on March 13.
It added that the investigation is ongoing and anyone with information should contact their local police.
Ville-Marie, Sask., is located about 330 kilometers northeast of Saskatoon.
