The Netherlands national team kicked off the start with an exciting win over the Senegal national team by two goals to none, in the match held as part of the first round of Group A in the 2022 World Cup.
The Dutch team defeated their Senegalese counterpart with a clean two-goal victory today, Wednesday, in the first encounter between the two teams in the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
The Dutch team's goals came at times in the match that was heading towards a goalless draw, through Cody Gakpo (84) and Davy Klaassen (97).
Cody Gakpo scored the goal for the Netherlands in the 85th minute. Davy Klaassen added the second goal in the 90th minute, taking advantage of a serious mistake by the Senegalese goalkeeper in clearing the ball.
The Netherlands team shares the top spot with Ecuador with 3 points.
Both teams shared possession without a significant advantage for either side, and some chances appeared at both goals without real danger in the first half.
The Senegal team began to reach more frequently to the goal of Andres Noppert, the Dutch goalkeeper; who saved a dangerous ball in the 65th minute, and from a dangerous attack Gakpo was able to put the Dutch windmills in the lead with the first goal; the Senegal team tried to come back to equalize; however, the Netherlands team added the second in the 90th minute.
