The Palestinian "Hamas" movement released two American hostages, a mother and her daughter, on Friday, according to a source familiar with the negotiations and a diplomatic source.

The source familiar with the negotiations stated that the hostages were delivered to the Red Cross and are "on their way out," confirming that they were released for "humanitarian reasons" because the mother is in poor health.

It is unclear whether they will leave Gaza for Egypt or Israel, but this release is the result of negotiations between Qatar and Hamas that began after Hamas's attack on Israel and the taking of hostages on October 7.

The spokesperson for the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas's military wing, Abu Ubaida, stated in a message: "In response to Qatari efforts, we released the two American hostages (a mother and her daughter) for humanitarian reasons, to prove to the American people and the world that the claims of Biden and his fascist administration are false and baseless."

The White House has not yet commented, nor has the office of the Israeli Prime Minister, and CNN has attempted to reach out to the Red Cross for a comment.

Additionally, the spokesperson for the Israeli occupation army stated that they are working in every possible way to determine the locations of the kidnapped individuals in Gaza and to secure their release.

Clarifying that recovering all the kidnapped individuals from the Gaza Strip is their top priority.

For his part, President Joe Biden stated that Hamas released the two American hostages, Judith and Natalie Ronan.

The Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesperson also told Reuters that Qatar hopes that dialogue will lead to the release of all civilian hostages from all nationalities.

For its part, Hamas stated that it is working with all mediators to implement the movement's decision to close the civilian file if the appropriate security conditions are met.

On another note, Channel 13 reported that the two American hostages received by Israel from Gaza are Judith Ronan, 59, and her daughter Natalie, 18, both from Chicago, who had arrived in Nahal Oz near Gaza to celebrate their grandmother's eightieth birthday and were planning to settle in Israel, in addition to having 10 family members kidnapped by Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
