Qatar announced that it is "committed" to an agreement as part of a prisoner exchange deal between Washington and Tehran, to manage six billion dollars of unfrozen Iranian funds.

Qatar stated its commitment to the exchange agreement after indications that Washington would slow down the implementation of the deal due to the "Al-Aqsa Deluge" operation.

Qatar's Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, said at a joint press conference with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken that "the State of Qatar is committed to any agreement it is a party to, and no steps are taken without consulting the concerned parties."

The Washington Post reported that the United States reached an agreement with Qatar to stop Iran from accessing 6 billion dollars of released funds in the prisoner exchange deal.

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that the United States reserves the right to re-freeze the 6 billion dollars of Iranian funds that were released as part of the prisoner exchange deal.

This decision was made after members of Congress increased pressure on the Biden administration to intensify policies against Tehran due to its support for the "Hamas" attack on Israel. Senior officials in the Biden administration stated that they currently have no evidence of direct Iranian involvement in the recent attack launched by the resistance. Several members of the U.S. House and Senate directly requested the U.S. government to stop Iran from accessing 6 billion dollars in response to the attack.

Furthermore, Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei denied earlier the existence of Iran's role in the "Al-Aqsa Deluge" operation launched by the "Hamas" movement against Israel, reminding of Iran's support for the Palestinians.

The war on Gaza has entered its seventh day following the "Al-Aqsa Deluge" operation launched by "Hamas" fighters last Saturday, in response to the ongoing attacks by Israeli forces and settlers against the Palestinian people, their properties, and their sanctities, particularly the Al-Aqsa Mosque in East Jerusalem, while the intense Israeli bombardment of civilian targets within the Gaza Strip continues.
