Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau directed his harshest criticism of the Israeli occupation since the outbreak of the war against the Gaza Strip on October 7, saying: “The killing of women, children, and infants in the besieged Gaza Strip must stop.”
Canada, like the United States and other allies of the occupation, expressed increasing concern about the rising number of deaths in the devastated enclave, where local health officials say: “11,000 have been killed since the start of the genocide war.”
Trudeau said: “I urge the occupation government to exercise the utmost restraint. The world is watching on television screens and social media, listening to testimonies from doctors, family members, survivors, and children who have lost their parents.”
He added at a press conference in the province of British Columbia in the west of the country: “The world is witnessing this killing of women, children, and infants, this must stop.”
The medical staff at Al-Shifa Hospital mentioned that the lives of 36 infants are at risk, noting that there is no clear mechanism to transfer them, pointing to the death of three out of 39 infants since fuel ran out at the largest hospital in Gaza this week.
He added: “About 350 Canadian citizens, permanent residents, and their family members have been evacuated from Gaza.
