A sudden explosion inside an electrical vault early this Saturday morning led to injuries of several workers, their hospitalization, and left up to 500 customers in the area without power, according to Toronto Fire.
Toronto Fire said crews received the call at approximately 12:55 AM to an electrical vault in the area of Lake Shore Boulevard and Don Roadway, where light smoke and fog could be seen coming from the basement.
There, two adult workers were transported to the hospital. Paramedics said one of the men sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries, while the other had minor injuries.
As a result of the explosion, the power outage affected between 500 to 1000 customers in the Front and Jarvis Street area, in addition to the Don Roadway area.
Toronto Hydro clarified on its website that the estimated restoration time is tomorrow, April 7, at 3:45 PM.
