The General Manager of OC Transpo, René Amilcar, said that during the past two weeks, a number of complex maintenance activities occurred, including calibrating the switch heater to prepare for winter, repairing and replacing rails, and grinding them. According to René, the O-Train 1 line is now ready and operating according to its usual schedule after the successful completion of track and maintenance works. Amilcar noted that this work, especially grinding and profiling, will ultimately improve ride quality, customer comfort, and overall sustainability. He also acknowledged his gratitude to all customers for their patience and understanding, adding that the transit agency will continue to work closely with the Rideau Transit Maintenance (RTM) Group to coordinate the timing of this work so that everyone can anticipate when annual service adjustments for Line 1 will occur in the coming years.
