Gas prices in the country's capital, Ottawa, have been steadily declining for a while now, but that's about to change with the start of the weekend.
Roger McKnight, senior petroleum analyst at En-Pro International Inc., says prices will jump by four cents this Saturday, October 5, reaching 152.9 cents per liter at most stations.
This is the highest gas price in a month, dating back to September 4, when it was 154.9 cents per liter.
Drivers in Ottawa have seen gasoline prices hover around 145.9 cents per liter at most gas stations for five days from September 28 to October 2, the lowest daytime price since February.
The highest monthly price for September was 154.9 cents/liter, while the highest monthly price in August was 167.9 cents/liter at most gas stations in Ottawa.
Prices were exceptionally high in July, with a monthly maximum of 170.9 cents per liter and a minimum of 164.9 cents per liter.
