The Ontario government has announced the expansion of more clinics specialized in performing surgeries; these clinics are responsible for conducting surgical operations. This decision aims to try to eliminate waiting times and waiting lists.
Silvia Jones, the Minister of Health, announced the project details and emphasized the expansion of both for-profit and non-profit private clinics, which will carry out surgical operations through the health insurance plan in Ontario.
This step included cataract surgeries, as well as MRI and CT scans, including gynecological surgeries.
Jones pointed out that there are currently more than 900 surgical centers operating in Ontario
The government will allow many centers to perform these surgeries, which will help reduce waiting lists.
