Buckingham Palace announced today, Monday, that Princess Anne has sustained minor injuries and a concussion following an accident that occurred at a farm in southwest England.

The palace stated that the 73-year-old sister of King Charles III was taken to the hospital as a precaution for monitoring and is expected to make a full recovery, adding that the incident occurred on Sunday in the Gatcombe Park area.

Although the exact cause of the injuries is uncertain, there were horses in the area. Her medical team stated that her head injuries are consistent with a potential impact from a horse's head or legs.

The palace said in a statement: "The King has been kept closely informed and has joined the entire royal family in sending their warmest love and wishes for the Princess's speedy recovery."

The Press Association reported that the Princess was walking within the protected grounds of the property when the incident occurred.

Emergency services were called to the property and treated her on-site before she was transported to Southmead Hospital in Bristol. She was accompanied by her husband, Vice Admiral Tim Lawrence.

Anne is one of the hardest-working members of the royal family and has stepped in to take on more duties in light of Charles's cancer diagnosis. Her engagements for the coming days will be postponed, and she will not attend the official dinner held in honor of the Emperor of Japan.
