The North Korean leader Kim Jong Un held a Political Bureau meeting with senior officials to discuss the outcomes of his recent summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin and called for comprehensive follow-up actions, as reported by official media today, Friday.

The Korean Central News Agency reported that during the Political Bureau meeting of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party held on Wednesday, officials analyzed the significance of Kim's visit to Russia and presented long-term plans to develop bilateral relations between the two countries.

During the meeting, Kim emphasized the necessity to "enhance close communications and cooperation in relevant areas of the two countries to expand and develop cooperation across all fields in a comprehensive manner."

He called for the active implementation of "constructive measures" to further deepen bilateral relations in all areas and develop them to a new high level, according to the South Korean news agency Yonhap.

The agency stated that the meeting also discussed "a series of ways for the practical and comprehensive application of the successes" achieved by Kim "through his external activities," without providing further details.

Kim Song Nam, the director of the committee's department, during the report presentation at the meeting, stated that the recent visit placed relations between North Korea and Russia at a "new strategic level in response to the requirements of the new era and brought about a radical change in the global geopolitical situation."

The rare summit between the two leaders took place at the Vostochny Cosmodrome last week amid concerns that the North may agree to supply ammunition for the war in Ukraine in exchange for food aid and the transfer of weapon technology.
