Muslims around the world celebrate Eid al-Adha on Saturday, July 9, 2022, while the pilgrims of the House of Allah began stoning the Jamrat al-Aqaba al-Kubra at the Mina ritual site on the first day of Eid al-Adha, after standing on the plain of Arafat and performing the greatest pillar of Hajj.

Millions of Muslims performed the Eid prayer on the morning of Eid in all parts of the world, about two hours after the dawn prayer, while social media users circulated photos and videos about the celebration, where the celebration was manifested in the slaughtering of sacrifices.

In occupied Palestine, Palestinians performed the Eid al-Adha prayer at Al-Aqsa Mosque in the occupied city of Jerusalem, as Palestinians, including entire families consisting of men, women, and children, began arriving at the mosque since the early dawn hours, as its courtyards were filled with worshippers as the prayer commenced.

The worshippers entered the mosque while chanting and praising with the takbirs of Eid, while forces from the occupation police spread around the Old City of Jerusalem and its alleys, according to reports published by Palestinian media.

Youth from Jerusalem distributed gifts to children who came to the mosque with their families, in the area of the Musalla of the Dome of the Rock courtyard, and activists also distributed sweets to the worshippers who flocked to the mosque.

This comes while the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and the Palestinian territories, Chairman of the Supreme Fatwa Council Sheikh Muhammad Hussein, announced that the time for Eid al-Adha prayer for this year 1443 AH is at six fifteen in the morning, according to daylight saving time.

The Director of Al-Aqsa Mosque, Sheikh Omar Al-Kiswani, said that the covered mosques in Al-Aqsa were cleaned, which are Al-Marwani Prayer Hall, the Dome of the Rock, the Mercy Mosque, the Old Al-Aqsa, and Al-Qibli Mosque prior to Eid.

At the first dawn hours, they reached the Mina ritual site, chanting and praising, their hearts filled with joy and happiness, after Allah bestowed upon them the standing on the plain of Arafat, and they performed the greatest pillar of Hajj, then they spent their night in Muzdalifah, according to the Saudi official news agency.

After the pilgrims reached the Mina ritual site, they began stoning the Jamrat al-Aqaba, following the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace be upon him).

As for Mecca, the pilgrims to the House of Allah began arriving at Mina with the first hours of dawn, chanting and praising, their hearts full of joy and happiness, after Allah bestowed upon them the standing on the plain of Arafat, and performed the greatest pillar of Hajj, then they spent their night in Muzdalifah, according to the Saudi official news agency.

After the pilgrims reached the Mina ritual site, they began stoning the Jamrat al-Aqaba, following the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace be upon him).

The stoning of the Jamarat serves as a reminder of the enmity of Satan, who opposed the Prophet Abraham (peace be upon him) at these places, so they recognize his enmity and beware of him, and after the pilgrims finish stoning the Jamrat al-Aqaba, they proceed on this day to perform the slaughtering rites, starting by slaughtering their sacrificial animals (Qurban), then shaving their heads, then circumambulating the Ancient House and performing the Sa’i between Safa and Marwah.

After that, the pilgrims continue to complete their rituals, remaining in Mina during the days of Tashreeq, remembering Allah abundantly and thanking Him for granting them Hajj, and completing the stoning of the three Jamarat, starting with the smallest, then the middle, then the largest, each with seven stones.
