Cyclists in Greater Victoria can get free rides from October 3 to 16 using bus bike racks or by showing their bike helmets when boarding. The Victoria Regional Transportation Commission and BC Transit announced the free transit plan late last week as part of the Go By Bike Week celebrations, where BC Transit representatives will be at the Saanich Municipal Hall from 3:30 PM to 6 PM on October 6 to explain how to use the bike racks on the fronts of BC Transit buses. Crown Company also stated in a press release: "BC Transit buses are equipped with bike racks at the front, making it easier for cyclists to combine two forms of sustainable transport when traveling longer distances." The transit provider added that more information about bike touring schedules during transit in the Greater Victoria area can be found on the BC Transit website, or to search for more information about Go By Bike Week, you can access the event website.
