The Swiss police used rubber bullets to disperse the protesters in front of the Iranian embassy in Bern after two men climbed the embassy wall and lowered the Iranian flag from the courtyard flagpole. The police said late Saturday that no one was injured and that the "large crowd" of protesters dispersed after rubber bullets were used. The protesters who entered the embassy grounds were also arrested. Additionally, the police stated that they used rubber bullets after several other protesters at the unauthorized demonstration tried to track the two men who first entered the embassy courtyard and also tried to reach the building. In the same context, thousands of Iranians took to the streets during the past two weeks protesting the death of Mahsa Amini. Outside Iran, thousands of protesters also organized demonstrations in European countries and elsewhere protesting her death, and they expressed their anger at the treatment of women and the increasing repression in the Islamic Republic.
