More than 100,000 Canadians have signed a parliamentary petition calling on Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to call for a halt to the bombing of Gaza, which has claimed the lives of many innocent civilians.
The petition, started by Maïva Jodrolet Valenti from Montreal, has been supported by more than 123,000 Canadians as of yesterday, November 4th, and included "establishing a humanitarian corridor" as one of its main demands.
The appeal insists that the Canadian government fulfill its commitments under the Geneva Conventions and international humanitarian law while taking all necessary steps to build a lasting peace by protecting both Israeli and Palestinian civilians.
After the petition opened for signatures on October 24, social media users widely circulated the petition online, urging Canadians to end the humanitarian disaster and war crimes in Gaza.
