Palestinian journalist Wael Al-Dahdouh is living through great trials, losing family and loved ones due to what the Israeli occupation army is doing to destroy everything in the Gaza Strip.

Wael Al-Dahdouh lost his mother yesterday while she was in the Gaza Strip, just a few weeks after he traveled to Qatar for treatment due to a hand injury.

A member of the Al-Dahdouh family mourned the mother of correspondent Wael Al-Dahdouh, saying: "To God alone we belong... We mourn the death of the widow Um Muhammad Al-Dahdouh, mother of Mr. Wael Al-Dahdouh and Haj Kamel Al-Dahdouh," through her account on the social media site Facebook.

The Qatari Al Jazeera channel revealed the cause of Wael Al-Dahdouh's mother's death, saying that she died in a hospital in Gaza after her health deteriorated due to illness.

Wael Al-Dahdouh is losing his family members one after another, as he has lost, besides his mother, his wife, three of his children, his grandson (son of Hamza), and his colleague, the photographer Samer Abu Dqa.

Treatment of Wael Al-Dahdouh

Journalist Wael Al-Dahdouh is currently undergoing treatment in Qatar, where he revealed details of the surgery saying: "A limited operation was scheduled, but the doctors were surprised by a more complicated condition than they imagined, and God helped them and enabled them to perform a successful operation that lasted 9 hours," adding: "It seems the treatment journey requires a long period."

Al-Dahdouh had arrived in Qatar in mid-January to begin a treatment journey after he sustained injuries to his hand by occupation forces while performing his work in the Gaza Strip.

At the end of last month, the Palestinian media figure broadcast a video clip in which he addressed his fans in Palestine, the Arab and Islamic world, and the free people of the world, asking them to pray for him in secret before entering the operating room.

Wael Al-Dahdouh then indicated that he was preparing to enter the operating room to undergo surgery on his right hand, asking his fans around the world to pray for him, concluding by saying: "Hopefully we will see you after a successful operation in good health."

Injury of Wael Al-Dahdouh

It is noteworthy that the Palestinian media personality Wael Al-Dahdouh was injured in his right hand in mid-December during his coverage of the Israeli bombing of Farhana School in Khan Younis southern Gaza Strip, which resulted in the martyrdom of his colleague, the photographer Samer Abu Dqa. He managed to leave aboard a Qatari evacuation plane, which Wael Al-Dahdouh boarded from Arish after leaving the Rafah border crossing to Hamad Medical City in the Qatari capital, Doha.
