An opinion survey was conducted about three months ago to determine the characteristics that the residents of Montreal wish to see in the future head of the Montreal Police Department (SPVM)
According to the results of this survey, which was organized by the Institute of the New World (INM), the residents of Montreal as well as police officers want the next police chief to be transparent in his management and to be, in particular, an excellent communicator.
Last year, the city of Toronto organized an opinion survey to involve its residents in choosing the future police chief, before the city of Montreal followed its lead this year.
