A Jewish center in Montreal was attacked with a Molotov cocktail on Sunday night to Monday, in an attack strongly condemned by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, whose country has witnessed a rise in the pace of anti-Semitic acts since October 7.
Shaul Emanuel, the director general of the "Jewish Community Council," said in a statement that the center was attacked when "no one was inside, and the damages were minor," condemning the "repeated, violent, and hateful attacks."
He explained that the Molotov cocktail broke the front door glass and settled in the center's lobby, causing part of its carpet to burn.
The attack was condemned by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who said in a post on X (formerly Twitter): "I strongly condemn the attack on the Jewish Community Council building in Montreal."
He added that "these ongoing acts of anti-Semitic violence are tragic and unacceptable – they must stop immediately. We must all stand united against such vile and hateful acts."
