A Jewish school in Montreal, Canada was subjected to a shooting with no reported injuries, according to police, for the second time in a week, amid tensions related to the war between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
When police arrived at the "Yeshiva Gedola" school in the French-speaking province, they found "bullet marks on the school's facade" and bullet casings on the ground.
The police said that "no one was" inside the school at the time of the shooting, adding that witnesses saw a car speeding away after hearing the gunfire.
This school is one of two Jewish schools in Montreal that were previously shot at, on Thursday night to Friday morning, which caused shock in the province of Quebec.
The school spokesperson, Lionel Perez, said during a press conference on Sunday, "For people to allow themselves to attack the same target again indicates the seriousness of the situation." He added that classes will continue as usual.
For his part, Quebec Premier François Legault said on the X platform: "Let us not import the hatred and violence we see in other parts of the world," vowing to make "every effort to find and punish the perpetrators."
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau condemned the previous shooting, calling for calm.
A Jewish temple in Montreal was also targeted with two Molotov cocktails last week, causing minor damage without injuries.
