According to the annual global university ranking by QC released this week, McGill University ranked 31st among the best universities worldwide, and it also ranked first as the best Canadian university.
The QC ranking is based on a set of criteria such as average grades, SAT scores, tuition fees, and the number of faculty members, and McGill scored high in academic reputation and research, but lower in the ratio of faculty to students and research output per faculty.
As for other Canadian universities, the University of Toronto ranked 34th in the global ranking, the University of British Columbia came in 47th, while the University of Montreal ranked 116th, and Concordia University dropped out of the list this year.
The Massachusetts Institute of Technology ranked first globally for the eleventh consecutive year, followed by Cambridge, Stanford, Oxford, and Harvard universities respectively.
