Loblaw Cos. Ltd. said it will build more than 40 new stores as part of a record investment plan worth over $2 billion.
The parent company of Loblaws and Shoppers Drug Mart also said it will expand or relocate 10 other sites, and more than 700 others will be renovated.
Loblaw added that the company’s capital investments are expected to create more than 7,500 jobs in Canada this year.
The company owns a network of 2,500 stores across the country, including Loblaws and Shoppers Drug Mart, the company’s banners also include No Frills, Real Canadian Superstore, and T&T.
