The Kuwaiti government has recently faced several cyber attacks on its websites and data, leading to breaches of many bank accounts and theft of balances.
Kuwait is currently working on protecting state data and enhancing the security of automated systems to protect the country from internal and external cyber fraud.
Important Warning
The Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior issued an important warning to everyone against dealing with cyber fraud or interacting with any suspicious and unsafe messages to prevent breach and theft of personal information.
The ministry stated that cyber criminals are promoting electronic games through which they can defraud individuals.
Meanwhile, Safaa Zaman, President of the Kuwaiti Information Security Association, said her country is moving towards stringent measures to protect the data of citizens and residents.
She pointed out that legal amendments are currently underway to quickly stop cyber fraud and withdrawals from bank accounts in case the account holder contacts the bank.
Enhancing Cyber Security
For his part, the Kuwaiti Cabinet called for the necessity of strengthening cybersecurity within the country and establishing a data fortification system against cyber attacks.
The Anti-Corruption Authority "Nazaha" revealed a practice to obtain licenses for a system to monitor and analyze security information and devices to prevent breaches and provide technical support.
According to what was mentioned by the President of the Information Security Association, Kuwait is working through the Central Bank to activate steps that help stop fraud against individuals through personal bank accounts.
The Kuwaiti cybersecurity launched a special platform through which data is exchanged between government entities, thus protecting it from any cyber attacks.
