The chase for the man suspected of killing three women and a 13-year-old girl in Memphis, Tennessee, ended after the police announced finding him dead from a gunshot on Sunday.
The Memphis Police Department announced the death of Mavis Christian Jr., 52 years old, near the scene of the incident after discovering his body inside a white Chevrolet Malibu car.
Investigators were searching for Christian on suspicion of killing a woman by gunfire on Saturday evening.
The US police also said earlier: "Preliminary information indicates that the incident resulted from domestic violence, and the suspect is known as a relative, and he fled after the incident in a white Chevrolet Malibu car towards an unknown location."
Christopher Williams, spokesperson for the Memphis Police Department, pointed to a shooting incident on Fieldlark Drive that caused the death of a woman and a 13-year-old girl, while a 15-year-old girl was left in critical condition. There was another shooting 13 miles away on Warrington Road, resulting in the death of a woman, according to the police.
The authorities did not identify the victims nor provide information about the nature of the victims’ relation to the suspect.
