At least 20 civilians, including two children, were killed in an air raid on a residential neighborhood in southern Khartoum, as the army continues to bombard Rapid Support Forces in the Sudanese capital on Sunday.
Resistance committees stated that the toll from the airstrikes on the Kalakla neighborhood has reached 20 civilian fatalities.
The resistance committees in the area previously reported that the morgue of one of the few hospitals still operational in the Sudanese capital holds 11 civilian corpses, including two children and a woman, noting that it was difficult to transport many of the charred and torn bodies.
In Khartoum, the fighting is concentrated in areas with high population density, where millions of residents have been living for five months amid water and electricity cuts and extreme heat, hiding in their homes in an attempt to protect themselves from the crossfire.
Witnesses informed AFP on Sunday that the northern suburbs of the capital witnessed artillery and rocket shelling by the army targeting Rapid Support Forces positions.
