The Conservative Party in Quebec announced the nomination of Dr. Karim Al-Ayoubi for the provincial legislative elections in the Argenteuil district, which will be held next October.

Radio Canada International met with this candidate in the city of Lachute, where he works as a family doctor in his clinic and as an emergency doctor in the local hospital.

Eric Duhaime, leader of the Conservative Party, was present in Montreal last Thursday to present his candidate, who was born in Chicoutimi to a Lebanese father from Tripoli and a Quebecois mother.

During this press conference, Dr. Al-Ayoubi expressed his opinion on the health measures taken to limit the spread of the novel coronavirus.

Karim Al-Ayoubi confirmed that he chose the Conservative Party because he wants to see a reform of the health network to include the private sector. This is the main reason for his choice of this political organization.

The Conservative Party program in Quebec, in its health section, calls for maintaining a universal health system, but with a significant increase in the role of the private sector, which would work in integration with the public system. The systems of Sweden, Britain, France, and Germany were mentioned as examples.
