The Jordanian army confirmed today, Friday, the arrest of four Israelis after they crossed the border without authorization.
The Jordanian army said in a statement: "The Border Guard forces arrested 4 Israelis after they crossed the border strip."
It added: "The four infiltrators crossed the border from the west by mistake, and none of them were soldiers as circulated, and they were returned by official means."
The Israeli Channel 14 previously reported that the Jordanian army "arrested 4 Israelis including soldiers after they crossed the border by mistake," then released them after the intervention of Israeli political bodies.
The channel explained that the four Israelis mistakenly entered the Aqaba area during a trip on an ATV vehicle yesterday, Thursday, and were arrested. After the intervention of political officials, they were released late at night and returned to Israel.
It mentioned that thanks to the rapid intervention of the Foreign Ministry and the consul, and Jordan's desire not to escalate the situation, the four youths were released at one o'clock in the morning after it was found that they crossed the border by mistake.
