The lawyer of radio host Jamil Jifani said: "They really wanted him to adopt a certain liberal viewpoint that they believed he should adopt as a member of the Black community."

This is where a former talk show host is suing Bell Media, claiming he was fired from his full-time role as the host of Black Talk because his views did not align with the stereotype the company expected from a Black man. That was when Jifani's lawyer, Catherine Marshall, stated: "There was an expectation that because he is Black, he had to say and do certain things. They really wanted him to adopt a certain global liberal viewpoint." Jifani filed a lawsuit on Thursday alleging breach of contract and wrongful dismissal.

In response, a Bell Media spokesperson said: "Bell Media does not comment on matters before the court. However, we can confirm that we will defend ourselves against these false allegations.

Jifani, 34, from Oshawa, Ontario, is a lawyer and author known for his conservative views. He is a regular contributing columnist to Postmedia, including the National Post. The claimant was also eager to join one of the largest media companies in Canada and share his opinions and perspectives, not only as a member of the Black community but as a free thinker and activist.
