Haileybury Ontario - The Crown in northeastern Ontario is proceeding with a sexual assault charge against Jacob Hougard, one of the Hedley men.
The Canadian musician was charged in March with sexual assault causing bodily harm in an incident alleged to have occurred on June 25, 2016, at Kirkland Lake, Ontario.
The Crown's lawyer in Haileybury court said on Thursday: The case will start with only the sexual assault charge. Hougard's lawyer, Megan Savard, had previously said: her client denies the allegation and will plead not guilty. The next court date was set for November 24 after Hougard's lawyer met and reviewed the new requests.
The singer was released on bail this month in a separate case after appealing a five-year prison sentence for sexual assault on a woman from Ottawa.
