Data released by the U.S. Labor Department today, Tuesday, reported a negative U.S. job openings index for the first time in 5 months, as the job openings and labor turnover survey recorded an increase equivalent to 9.93 million jobs during last February, less than market expectations which indicated it would register only 10.49 million jobs, while the previous reading recorded about 10.82 million jobs during last January.
It is noted that this data is released later in the month, but it may affect the market as the job openings index is a leading indicator for measuring overall employment rates, and this index measures the number of job openings during the month excluding the agricultural sector
