A military source reported on Tuesday that Syrian air defenses intercepted an Israeli attack with four missiles south of the capital, Damascus.

He said that the Israeli air attack came from the direction of the Golan and targeted some points south of the capital.

He also added that the Syrian air defenses shot down three of them, while the fourth missile fell in a nearby area without recording human losses, and the losses were limited to material damage only, according to the Syrian news agency (SANA).

For his part, the director of the Syrian Observatory announced that Israel targeted with missiles sites affiliated with Iran and the Lebanese Hezbollah, explaining that air defense batteries belonging to the regime are present in the Al-Kiswah area south of the capital, Damascus.

Israel has been regularly shelling targets belonging to Iran and the Lebanese Hezbollah militia deep within Syria without announcing its responsibility for these attacks.

Tel Aviv rarely confirms carrying out strikes on Syrian territory, but it repeatedly states that it will continue to confront what it describes as Iran and Hezbollah’s attempts to deepen their military presence and tighten their grip in the region.
