The Iranian news agency "Mehr" reported that the country's delegation, headed by the Deputy Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly Mojtaba Zonnouri, left the meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Union after describing the Palestinian resistance as "terroristic."

The agency also mentioned that the Iranian delegation participated in the 147th meeting of the International Council of Parliaments under the slogan "Parliamentary Actions for Peace, Justice, and the Establishment of Strong Institutions" in Angola, noting that Duarte Pacheco, the President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, delivered a speech in which he took a unilateral stance supporting the Zionist entity regarding recent developments and described the Palestinian resistance group as a terrorist group.

Following these remarks, the Iranian parliamentary delegation left the opening hall as a sign of protest.

Also, after the speech of the President of the "Inter-Parliamentary Union," parliamentary delegations returned to the venue and expressed strong reactions to the stances taken against the resistance of the Palestinian people.

After that, Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço, the President of Angola, expressed his concern about the situation in the Gaza Strip and announced that all necessary measures should be taken to prevent a humanitarian disaster in the Gaza Strip.
