Toronto police are investigating a major vandalism incident at St. Augustine Catholic School in North York over the long weekend.
Investigators said the police received a call about an incident at the school around 4 p.m. on Monday.
A spokesperson for the Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB) said the second floor of the school is closed, but the elementary school will remain open, describing the damage as "extensive."
The board said the damage included broken glass, vandalized and scattered school materials. Students on the second floor were relocated to other classrooms while the damage was being cleaned up.
A letter was also sent to parents and guardians regarding the incident.
Toronto police say the motive is unclear, confirming only that it is under investigation.
