Patrick Brown's disqualification case from the Conservative Party leadership race is still ongoing, where a lawyer for a woman who identified herself as a former organizer for Patrick Brown's campaign said that Brown personally linked her to an external company to pay for her work on his campaign.
Debra Goodwin said in a statement released through her lawyer that she worked briefly as a regional organizer for Brown's campaign from May to early June.
She explained that she had long been an organizer with the Canadian Conservative Party and joined Brown's campaign at his request.
Goodwin says Brown told her that "it is permissible for me to be hired by a company as a consultant, then for that company to have me volunteer on the campaign."
Adding, that Brown linked her via "a text message with a third party for this purpose."
Goodwin said, she became interested in the process of arranging the matter and suspected that something was not right, and shared those concerns with the party through the lawyer.
