The federal minister says he is taking action regarding "disturbing" tweets by a senior advisor on an anti-racism project.
Minister Ahmed Hussein has requested to closely look into the situation "after what he called the 'unacceptable behavior'" of Laith Ma'arouf, one of the senior advisors involved in the government-funded project to combat racism in broadcasting.
One of Laith Ma'arouf’s tweets on the Twitter platform included: "You know all those loud-mouthed bags of human feces, also known as white Jewish zealots; when we liberate Palestine, they must go back where they came from, they will return to being low-key whores for their Christian/secular white supremacist masters."
In this regard, Ma'arouf refused requests for comment, but when asked about the post, a lawyer representing Ma'arouf requested and is trusted to convey his client's tweets "literally" and distinguishes between Ma'arouf's clear reference to "white Jewish zealots" and Jews in general.
