The International Court of Justice concluded today, Monday, the public hearings held from February 19 to 26, regarding the request for an advisory opinion on the legal consequences arising from the policies and practices of Israel in the occupied Palestinian territories, including East Jerusalem.
During the sessions, the State of Palestine, 49 United Nations member states, and three international organizations participated and presented oral statements (in the following order): Palestine, South Africa, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, the Netherlands, Bangladesh, Belgium, Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, the United States of America, the Russian Federation, France, Gambia, Guyana, Hungary, China, Iran, Iraq, Ireland, Japan, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Mauritius, Namibia, Norway, Oman, Pakistan, Indonesia, Qatar, the United Kingdom, Slovenia, Sudan, Switzerland, Syria, Tunisia, Turkey, Zambia, the Arab League, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the African Union, Spain, Fiji, the Maldives.
The Court confirmed that it has begun its deliberations and will issue its advisory opinion in a public session later, according to the Court's statement.
