An economic report published today, Monday, showed an improvement in consumer confidence in Canada during the past week compared to the previous week.
The Canadian Bloomberg Nanos index rose last week to 58.59 points compared to 56.77 points the previous week. The index is issued in cooperation between the Nanos Research Institute and Bloomberg News Agency.
According to the weekly survey, 45% of consumers see the Canadian economy as worse over the next six months, while 64% of consumers expect housing prices to rise during the second half of this year.
Bloomberg Agency indicated that the index depends on a survey of 1000 Canadians, and a reading of the index above 50 points indicates that the percentage of those who see the economic conditions as positive exceeds the percentage of those who see it negatively.
