German Agriculture Minister Cem Özdemir praised the large-scale protests across Germany against right-wing extremism.

Özdemir said in remarks to Deutschlandradio, published today Sunday, that people are saying from the heart of society: "Enough is enough now."

It is noted that hundreds of thousands of people have demonstrated across Germany in recent days against the right wing and for democracy.

There are scheduled to be more marches and demonstrations today Sunday in Munich, Cologne, and Leipzig, with tens of thousands expected to participate in Munich alone.

The German Agriculture Minister confirmed that he realized that the demonstrations are also directed at the ruling coalition, saying: "We have to do our work, it’s not just about mobilizing the democratic center, but also about the ruling coalition – as well as the democratic opposition represented by the Christian coalition – stopping the infighting and thereby pushing people into the arms of the right-wing opposition party Alternative for Germany /AfD/."

He added that infighting within the ruling coalition and self-absorption undermine confidence that the government solves problems, saying: "We are adults, simply there is no excuse, we can do better, and we must also do better."

These protests and marches came against the backdrop of what the media center "Correctiv" revealed, which published reports about a meeting in the city of Potsdam participated in by officials from the right-wing opposition party Alternative for Germany "AfD", right-wing extremists, members of the Christian Democratic Party, and the Values Union considered among the hardline conservatives, last November.

Martin Sellner, former head of the far-right identitarian movement in Austria, confirmed that he spoke at this meeting about the term "Remigration" (repopulation), according to DPA.

It is worth noting that when right-wing extremists use this term, they usually mean the necessity of large numbers of people of foreign origin leaving Germany, even by force if necessary.
