German Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced on Sunday his rejection of an "immediate" ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, at a time when calls in this regard are repeated around the world as the Israeli occupation's heavy bombing of the strip continues.
Scholz said during a discussion organized by a regional German newspaper, "I admit that I do not believe that calls for an immediate ceasefire or a long truce (...) are appropriate, because that ultimately means that Israel (the occupation) will allow Hamas to have new missiles."
The continuous Israeli aggression for more than a month has resulted in more than 11,000 martyrs and more than 30,000 injured.
