Gasoline prices have fallen to just under $4 for the first time in over five months – good news for consumers struggling with rising prices of many other essentials.
Prices dropped by 15 cents last week and 68 cents in the past month.
The shopping app GasBuddy reported that the national average already dropped to $3.98 on Wednesday.
The drop in gas prices, airfare tickets, and clothing gives consumers some relief, although inflation remains near a four-decade high.
Oil prices began rising in mid-2020 as economies recovered from the initial shock of the pandemic.
