French Senator Valérie Boyer called today, Wednesday, October 18, 2023, for the withdrawal of French nationality and the revocation of the Ballon d'Or from former Real Madrid player and current Al-Ittihad player Karim Benzema.
Valérie Boyer stated in a statement issued today that Karim Benzema had posted a tweet on his official account via the ''X'' platform expressing his support for the people of Gaza due to the airstrikes and bombardment they are facing, adding that French Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin had confirmed that "Benzema has ties to the Muslim Brotherhood".
As a result, the senator called for sanctions against Karim Benzema by revoking the Ballon d'Or he won in 2022 and then submitting an official request to strip him of his French nationality.
