Four people died in four separate water incidents in the Ottawa Valley from Thursday to Sunday, according to Ontario Provincial Police.

The first incident occurred Thursday night on Brawl Lake, about 185 kilometers west of downtown Ottawa, when a fishing boat capsized with four people onboard around 8 p.m. None of them were wearing life jackets, but three of the four managed to swim to shore, according to police.

The body of the fourth person, a 51-year-old from the Durham area, was found by the police underwater search and recovery unit the following night.

The second incident happened before 11 a.m. on Friday, when provincial police were informed of an unmanned boat circling on the Ottawa River west of Deep River. The body of a 66-year-old man who was operating the boat was found and recovered the next day.

The third incident occurred before 6 p.m. on Saturday on Dam Lake in the Madawaska Valley, Ontario, about 180 kilometers west of downtown Ottawa.

An 18-year-old young man was found unresponsive in shallow water and was pronounced dead despite CPR efforts from bystanders and paramedics, police said.

The last incident occurred around 11 a.m. on Sunday when a vessel collided with kayaks on Little Cranberry Lake, about 40 kilometers northeast of downtown Kingston, Ont.

A 45-year-old kayaker from Kawartha Lakes sustained serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene despite resuscitation efforts.

Authorities have not released the identities of the deceased, stating that the coroner's office does not suspect foul play in any of the incidents, and investigations are ongoing.
