Former New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern married her fiancé Clarke Gayford in a ceremony that witnessed tight security measures, today Saturday.
The wedding ceremony was held on a farm on the east coast of New Zealand's North Island, in the Hawke's Bay area, where the Gayford family lives.
Ardern did not comment publicly on the wedding.
Local media reported that Ardern wore a dress by New Zealand designer Juliet Hogan.
The limited ceremony was attended by family members, close friends, and local MPs, and among those present was former Prime Minister Chris Hipkins, according to the "New Zealand Herald" newspaper.
Ardern and Gayford's wedding was scheduled to take place in Gisborne in January 2022, but the wedding was postponed due to the country's restrictions to contain the coronavirus.
