The global blogging platform "Twitter" announced the launch of its new feature "Twitter Circle," which enables users around the world to share their tweets with specific groups of followers. Platform users can, through this feature, select the list of followers who can see and interact with their tweets easily when posted. This allows tweeters to enjoy having more personal conversations and strengthen the relationship with specific groups of their followers.
The beta version of this feature was tested on a limited group of platform users last April, which allowed the creation of new tools tailored to tweeters’ personal preferences, making decisions about content sharing, selecting followers, and determining the best time to interact with them. Starting yesterday, this feature has become available on devices running (iOS) and (Android), as well as on the Twitter.com website worldwide.
Twitter Circle
Users within the "Twitter Circle," before posting any tweet, can see the option to share it with a specific circle of followers or with all of them. They can add up to 150 followers within that circle, which can be changed at any time without notifying the followers.
Followers within the "Twitter Circle" can also see a green badge at the bottom of the tweets they wish to publish. These tweets cannot be retweeted or shared, knowing that only followers included in the specified circle can see, interact with, and reply to these tweets with complete privacy, even if the user's account is not private.
Having the choice and tools
Through this new feature, "Twitter" aims to empower all its users to have the choice and necessary tools to control the privacy of their tweets and engage transparently with ongoing conversations whenever they want and however they like.
Since Twitter introduced the beta phase of this feature, tweeters have expressed how it has notably contributed to enhancing their personal experience on the platform and bolstering the privacy of their tweets, including the ability to post tweets and express personal opinions with more freedom.
