For the first time in history, a Canadian spacecraft is participating in lunar exploration and assisting in the international search for water ice, as part of the space exploration program.

The Canadian spacecraft will land on the lunar south pole, and in collaboration between NASA and the Canadian Space Agency, the Canadian spacecraft is flying as part of NASA's Commercial Lunar Payload Services initiative.
