British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak appointed former Prime Minister David Cameron as Foreign Secretary today, Monday, November 13, 2023.

Sunak made a cabinet reshuffle before the expected general elections next year, appointing Foreign Secretary James Cleverly as Home Secretary instead of the controversial dismissed Home Secretary Suella Braverman.

The British Prime Minister has been under increasing pressure to dismiss Braverman after her critics accused her of fueling tensions during weeks of pro-Palestinian demonstrations and counter-protests in the UK.

Sunak had appointed Braverman to this ministerial position after assuming government leadership a little over a year ago.

Braverman also said after her dismissal, "Holding the position of Home Secretary was the greatest honor of my life... I will make additional statements in due course."

Braverman's dismissal came as the ruling Conservative Party announced that it is planning a cabinet reshuffle including the main portfolios for the first time since the current government was formed on October 25, 2022.
