According to the Canadian Ministry of the Environment, Hurricane Fiona is expected to pass over the Magdalen Islands Archipelago tomorrow, Saturday.
Officials of the archipelago and civil protection have begun preparing for the storm's arrival at any time.
According to the regional director of civil security in the archipelago, Felix Caron, "Everyone is on alert with prior warning to the residents to take their precautions before the storm hits."
Caron added, "We are doing everything we can before disasters occur so that municipalities and communities are as prepared as possible to deal with the situation."
