As the spring season approaches, eligible residents in Ontario can look forward to receiving additional government benefits in the coming months.
Below are the scheduled dates for these payments:
Ontario Emergency Assistance
For those facing financial difficulties such as purchasing necessities like food and paying for shelter, the Ontario government offers assistance known as Ontario Works or social assistance.
Eligibility depends on family income, ownership, and family size, and only one application is required per family.
Applicants must be at least 16 years old, residents of Ontario, and willing to participate in employment-related activities.
Emergency assistance is available to those experiencing crises, such as those affected by the coronavirus, facing eviction, or suffering from a natural disaster.
Applicants must be Ontario residents, not currently receiving social assistance, and have a continuous income, with the following payment dates for the benefit:

Canada Pension Plan and Old Age Security
For residents over 65 years old, the maximum monthly payment for the Canada Pension Plan (CPP) is $1,306.57. For Old Age Security (OAS), individuals aged 65 to 74 with an annual income under $142,609 are eligible for a monthly payment of up to $707.68, and those aged 75 and over with an annual income under $148,179 can receive up to $778.45 monthly.
Payments for the Canada Pension Plan and Old Age Security are sent monthly, and the upcoming payment dates are:

Child Tax Credit
The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) oversees the monthly tax-free Child Tax Credit benefit, designed for eligible families supporting
children under 18 years old.
