Explosion shakes Paris and fires break out in several buildings

A loud explosion occurred in the French capital Paris today, Wednesday, where flames were seen engulfing several buildings.

The mayor of the 5th arrondissement of Paris, Florence Berthout, said that four people are in critical condition after an explosion occurred in the Latin Quarter in the center of the capital.

The Paris police department stated that at least 16 people were injured, including seven in critical condition, as a result of the explosion.
