One of the lawyers representing the main organizers of the "Freedom Convoy" was asked to leave the hearing room today, Tuesday, by the Public Order Emergency Commission.
Miller, who took the lead in questioning witnesses from the protesters' perspective, was seeking to make an oral request to add a ministerial official, who was present, to the list of witnesses. He tried to raise this matter as the commission was seeking to continue hearing the testimony of Public Safety Minister Marco Mendicino.
While Rollo ordered him to submit his request to the commission in writing, Miller objected, saying he had previously submitted requests related to revising federal government documents that "the commissioner refused to rule on."
Rollo said: "I will take a recess while you are asked to leave, and I will return in five minutes if security can deal with the lawyer." Then the commission entered a short recess during which Miller was escorted outside.
